University Hospitals CompCare News
New, Full-Service Web Site Now Available
University Hospitals CompCare has launched a new and more robust Web site, designed to provide
employers, medical providers and injured workers with access to information and self-service
features to facilitate timely, efficient injury treatment and return-to-work. The new site,
www.universitycompcare.com, went "live" at the end of November.
The site includes a number of features that employers, medical providers and injured workers
can use without registering. In addition, it provides highly secure, password-protected access to
claims data. People who want online access to their University Hospitals CompCare claims data can
register at the site for free access, instead of having to call University Hospitals CompCare to set up an
online account (although calls to our customer service staff at 1-800-818-7273 are as welcome
as always). In addition, the University Hospitals CompCare site gives people the option of filing an online
injury report or printing out the First Report of Injury and send via FAX to University
CompCare at 1-800-654-3849.
At universitycompcare.com, each constituent group - employers, providers and injured
workers - has its own Web portal, full of news and information to enable them to work smarter
and react faster to the trends in workers' compensation. For example, the employer portal
includes University Hospitals CompCare's employer's guide and employee's guide, in an easy-to-print
format in case someone needs a quick copy. The site is also closely linked with the Ohio
Bureau of Workers' Compensation (BWC)
site www.ohiobwc.com
for reporting injuries, accessing the appropriate forms and finding a medical
provider in a certain geographic or specialty area. The "Access" newsletter
for employers is also archived on the site.
Employees have access to the employee's guide and information about the appropriate use of
their University Hospitals CompCare identification card. Providers can review and print BWC and
University Hospitals CompCare guidelines for treatment protocols and prior authorizations, which will
facilitate injury treatment and return-to-work.
The new site features the industry's most comprehensive "Library of Resources" with timely
information and news you can use about University Hospitals CompCare, BWC, workers' compensation
best practices, OSHA, return-to-work, injury prevention, health and wellness, and safety
management. Of course, no single Web site can do everything, so the University Hospitals CompCare
site provides a thoroughly researched list of more than 80 Web links, as well as smaller, "best
of the best" lists for each of the three constituent groups.
University Hospitals CompCare's customer representatives, nurse case managers, provider relations
representatives and the team approach the organization uses continue to be the most important
elements in University Hospitals CompCare's success. The enhanced Web-based services are yet
another tool now available to University Hospitals CompCare and its constituents to continue to facilitate
best-in-class injury treatment and return-to-work.
