Finding the ‘Right Match’ with University
CompCare
The state Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC) says employers
should expect a high level of performance from their managed care
organization (MCO). "The single most important way you can
control your costs is to make sure that your MCO is working for you.
Make sure your MCO is the right match for you," advises BWC
Administrator/CEO James Conrad.
At University Hospitals CompCare, we want to continue to be the right match
for our employer clients. That is why, even though May 2002 is
open enrollment month for Ohio’s workers’ compensation managed care
program, it should be a "non-event" for our current
customer base of more than 11,000 public- and private-sector
employers. University Hospitals CompCare continues to rank among the
best-performing, most customer-focused managed care organizations
(MCOs) in the state.
However, employers who have an Ohio MCO that is not in University
CompCare’s class can switch to us during the May 6-31, 2002 open
enrollment period. Signing up with University Hospitals CompCare is
easy – online or by calling us at 1-800-818-7273 – and yields
immediate and long-lasting benefits.
As an affiliate of University Hospitals Health System, we are one
of the very few MCOs in the state with deep roots in Ohio and in
occupational medicine. We assign a customer service representative,
nurse case manager and provider relations representative to every
employer, which ensures a quick, knowledgeable and personal response
to client questions and needs. We consistently rank high in employer
and injured worker satisfaction and are one of the most efficient
MCOs in the state in terms of injury reporting and follow-up – all
of which translate into high return-to-work success rates.
To serve customers better than ever, we introduced two major
enhancements to our program in the past year:
- Redesigned, full-service Web site
: University Hospitals CompCare’s new,
full-featured, easy-to-use Web site
(www.universitycompcare.com)
features the exclusive DataLink service, which provides 24/7,
password-protected access to claims data, including access to injury
and treatment information, and provider billing and payment status.
Employers can search, analyze and organize the data any way they
want – by claim number, employee name, social security number or
injury date. Be sure to visit the site at your earliest convenience
to set up your free online account.
- URAC accreditation
: University Hospitals CompCare’s case management
program has received Case Management Organization full accreditation
by URAC, the premier organization for accreditation of case management
services. URAC accreditation signifies that University Hospitals CompCare has
all of the necessary policies and procedures in place for medical case
management and that they are applied consistently.
"Ever since the MCO program was launched five years ago, not
all employers have understood that there can be wide disparities in
MCOs’ level of service and performance," according to Clairmonte
Cappelle, vice president of University Hospitals CompCare. "Many MCOs
blend together in mediocrity, but University Hospitals CompCare aims to stand
out as an MCO partner that is stable, responsive, caring and
smart."
