University Hospitals CompCare Earns Perfect Score in URAC Accreditation

University Hospitals CompCare has again been awarded Case Management Organization full accreditation by URAC/American Accreditation HealthCare Commission. By posting a perfect score of 100 percent in fall 2003, University Hospitals CompCare earned the highest level of URAC accreditation available.

The two-year accreditation was received after URAC reviewed University Hospitals CompCare’s adherence to 43 core standards and 24 case management standards, and conducted an on-site visit at University CompCare’s offices in Cleveland. This re-accreditation follows the initial URAC two-year accreditation that University Hospitals CompCare received in 2001. URAC is the premier organization for accreditation of case management services.

“The accreditation and the 100 percent score mean that we have all of the necessary policies and procedures in place, that they are applied consistently, and that we manage the process diligently,” said Clairmonte Cappelle, vice president of University CompCare, an affiliate of University Hospitals Health System. “In addition, last open enrollment in 2002, we were ranked first in the state in employer satisfaction. The continuing third-party validation of our customer service and case management systems is very gratifying.”

URAC standards cover categories such as case management personnel qualifications and caseload; the case management process; continuous quality improvement; confidentiality of client-specific information; and a process for resolving grievances and complaints.
