University Hospitals Health System Introduces New Corporate Health Service

University Hospitals Health System (UHHS) recently strengthened its corporate health service offering with the launching of its corporate health provider network -- a panel of providers dedicated to the treatment of on-the-job injuries. Network providers can now be accessed through a single point of contact at 1-866-RTW-UHHS. This network complements the comprehensive medical case management and return-to-work services provided by University Hospitals CompCare, UHHS's certified workers' compensation managed care organization (MCO) subsidiary.

"When an employee sustains an on-the-job injury or illness, our goal is to provide prompt, appropriate care based on best practices that will reduce lost work days and costs associated with work-related injuries and illnesses" says Clairmonte Cappelle, vice president of Corporate Health Services.

Medical care provided to injured workers is based on benchmark medical treatments for particular injuries or illnesses. This approach facilitates a quick, safe return to work for the injured worker, either through medical release with physical restrictions to a transitional position while rehabilitation occurs, or directly to the original position.

"Our goal is to meet the work-related health care needs of Northeast Ohio employers, by providing all-encompassing medical care along with the nationally accredited case management and return to work services of University Hospitals CompCare," says Cappelle.

By year's end, UHHS will once again add another corporate health service offering with the roll out a comprehensive program to provide employment-related exams for Northeast Ohio employers. This program will offer a full range of exams that may be required by an employer as part of the hiring process or to comply with work-related health and safety regulations, such as the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)
