Using Your ID Card

Workers whose employers have University Hospitals CompCare as their workers' compensation managed care organization should have a University Hospitals CompCare ID card, which is located in the front of our employee's guide. If you don't have a copy of the guide or need a replacement card, see your supervisor or employer. You can also review our employee guide online.

Once you have your card, you must fill it out completely and always carry it with you. It verifies that you are covered for work-related injuries at your current place of employment by University Hospitals CompCare. You must present your ID card to your health care provider on every visit to your medical provider to ensure that University Hospitals CompCare is properly billed for your medical care. You must also present your ID card to your pharmacist for prescribed medications for your work-related injury. If the BWC has allowed your claim, you will not be charged for your prescription.

The ID card is to be used only when seeking treatment for work-related injuries. It may not be used by other members of your family or anyone else, and intentional misuse of the card could constitute fraud.

If you leave your current place of employment, your coverage under University Hospitals CompCare ends. Please return the ID card to your supervisor.
